Ninja Cats
In April 2016, for the first time, Microsoft introduced a new version of Windows 10 emoji sets featuring π±βπ€ Ninja Cats.
It is noteworthy that these emojis are available only on Windows 10.
Users with this operating system can use six ninja-cat emojis, either alone or with other emojis and emoticons.
The Ninja Cats collection includes the ninja cat itself:
- π±βπ stunt cat,
- π±βπ» hacker cat,
- π±βπ tyrannosaurus cat,
- π±βπ hipster cat
- and π±βπ astronautΒ cat.
These emojis consist of the following combinations connected with a special invisible ZWJ symbol:
Non-printing character ZWJ (Zero-Width-Joiner) is used to connect two or more emojis. It allows you to display conjunct emojis as one emoji.
It is worth recalling that the Ninja Cat was first seen in emojis back in 2015 and immediately gained popularity among Windows users. But then the company hid the cat in various invitations, included it in the emoji collection for Skype, and used it for advertising purposes.
At this time, the Ninja Cats emojis haven't been recommended by Unicode and are limited to cross-platform support on Windows. Therefore, these emojis aren't supported by Apple and Android.
Microsoft's Ninja Cats quickly gained popularity among Windows users. And the ability to combine them with other emojis significantly expands the scope.
